The astrology of the second half of life

Some things arrive on time

Four planets and one small body reach the same angles to your birth chart at roughly the same ages, for everyone, because the timing is made of orbits. Here is when they reach yours — to the day, and every time they do it.

No birth time, no birth place. They would not change the answer.

  1. Age 29, then 58

    Saturn return

Saturn finishes a lap and starts another. The first one is written about endlessly; the second, at fifty-eight, is barely written about at all.

  2. Age 35 to 65

    Pluto square

The one with no typical age. Pluto's orbit is so uneven that this lands in the mid-thirties for some birth years and the mid-sixties for others.

  3. Age about 41

    Neptune square

The most punctual of the five, and often three or five separate passes rather than one date.

  4. Age 38 to 45

    Uranus opposition

Uranus reaches the far side of the sky from where it began — the transit the phrase "midlife crisis" was borrowed from.

  5. Age 48 to 51

    Chiron return

Chiron comes back to where it started. The free calculator ranking for this today adds fifty to your birth year, which names the wrong year about half the time.

  1. N° 01

The dates are computed, not estimated

Positions come from the same engine that draws charts here, checked against NASA's JPL Horizons. Chiron, which almost no astronomy library covers, is a table of sixty-five thousand daily positions fetched straight from JPL. Every date on this site is verified against published ephemerides, down to the hour.

  2. N° 02

You get every pass, not one date

Planets appear to stop and reverse for months at a time, so these transits usually happen three times, and sometimes five. Pluto crossed into Aquarius five times between 2023 and 2024. A calculator that hands you a single date has either got lucky or quietly dropped two thirds of the answer.

  3. N° 03

A date of birth, and nothing else

No time, no birth city, no account. These five bodies move slowly enough that the date alone settles it — and the arithmetic happens in your browser, so your date of birth is never sent anywhere at all.

A transit is a piece of timing, not a verdict on a life. This site treats astrology as a vocabulary for looking at a stretch of years, which rules out forecasts, warnings, and anything that claims to know what happens next — including anything at all about your health.

  1. N° 01

    What a natal chart is

For someone who knows their sun sign and nothing else. What the chart is a picture of, and what it is not.

  2. N° 02

    Why birth time matters

What changes with the hour, what doesn't, and what you can still learn if you don't know yours.

  3. N° 03

Why sites disagree about your chart

House systems, explained without jargon — and why two correct sites can show you different houses.

The whole birth chart, if you want it

Ten bodies, six house systems and an SVG wheel you can download. That one needs a birth time and a place, and it will tell you plainly what it cannot work out if you don't have them — rather than assuming noon and handing you a confident, wrong chart.
